Individual Therapy in San Francisco
Individual Therapy
I believe in working collaboratively with clients and building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and openness. I see my role as a curious, caring human being first and a clinician second. My main approach to therapy is based in my training in psychodynamic therapy, but I also borrows from multiple modalities and styles of therapies such as Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems. As your therapist, I adapt my therapeutic skills and training to suit the unique needs of each individual I work with. With me, you will have a therapist who is a very active listener, challenges you when necessary, and helps you learn not only how to survive difficult circumstances but how to move through in ways that are adaptive, grounding and affirming.
What to Expect
As your therapist, I’m not somebody who sits back and silently observes. I am very active listener whose role is to a safe, grounded therapeutic relationship. By sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe, confidential environment, we will work together to build self awareness around emotional, cognitive and behavioral responses, freeing you up to create organic, sustainable change in your life. In addition to general practice, I am a trauma specialist who helps bridges the gap between a client’s painful past to an adaptive present so healing can feel possible. Your role: to trust in the process, show up for yourself, and be open to what healing becomes for you.

Individual Therapy FAQs
-
My typical client meets me for 50 minutes once a week, although frequency of sessions can increase depending on an individuals needs. Please note I am not a 'drop in' therapist that sees client's once every few weeks or month, as this can dramatically reduce the efficacy of treatment. Session length may increase if modalities like EMDR are introduced to help clients who are particularly stuck at certain places.
